WhatsApp Marketing Campaigns

WhatsApp Marketing Campaigns turn your opted-in contacts into a revenue channel: send a Meta-approved template to your whole list (or a segment), personalise each message from your subscriber data, shorten every link so clicks are counted per recipient, and connect Google Analytics to see the sales each campaign actually drove.

Overview

WAGate's Marketing Hub lets you send bulk WhatsApp campaigns to your subscriber list from a single screen. You pick a Meta-approved Marketing template, choose your audience — everyone, or a group or interest segment — and WAGate queues and paces the send on top of the official Meta Cloud API, so your number's quality stays healthy.

Every message is personalised: template variables map to your subscriber fields (first name, last name, email, phone) or to a fixed value you set once for the whole campaign. Any link in the message — a body link or a button — can be shortened and tracked, so WAGate records exactly who clicked, then forwards them to your real page with automatic UTM tags. Connect Google Analytics and the campaign report shows the revenue, purchases and sessions each campaign produced.

Why WhatsApp for marketing

WhatsApp campaigns are opened and read where email and SMS are not — and WAGate gives you the tooling to run them properly.

Smart, personalised templates
Build a marketing template and map each variable to a subscriber field or a fixed value right in the editor — no re-mapping every time you launch a campaign.
Tracked links & click analytics
Turn on tracking and WAGate replaces your link with a short URL that logs each recipient's click, then forwards to your page — see delivered, read, clicked and click-through rate per campaign.
Sales attribution with GA4
Every link is tagged with a unique utm_campaign. Connect Google Analytics and each report shows the revenue and purchases the campaign drove.
Grow your list, stay compliant
Import a CSV, sync store customers, capture opt-ins with a JOIN keyword or website widget — with one-tap unsubscribe and STOP handling built in.

How to send a WhatsApp campaign

  1. Build your audience

Import subscribers from a CSV, sync customers from your connected store, or grow the list with a JOIN keyword and a website sign-up widget. Everyone must have opted in to marketing.

  2. Create a marketing template

In the Template Hub, write a Marketing template. Insert subscriber fields (first name, email…) as already-mapped variables, set fixed values for a discount or date, and add a link button with Track clicks on. The AI writer keeps copy gender-neutral so one message reads naturally for everyone. Submit it to Meta for approval.

  3. Compose the campaign

Pick the approved template — the composer inherits its mapping and destination automatically, and shows a live WhatsApp preview with sample values so you see exactly what recipients get.

  4. Send a test

Send the campaign to your own number first, confirm the wording, personalisation and button, then continue.

  5. Launch or schedule

Launch immediately or schedule it. WAGate queues the messages and paces delivery to protect your number's quality rating.

  6. Watch the funnel

Open the campaign report for a live funnel — sent, delivered, read, clicked — plus engagement rates and, once Google Analytics is connected, the sales attributed to the campaign.

Tip. Reuse one approved template across many campaigns — the discount and dates are fixed-value variables you set per send, so you don't resubmit to Meta each time.

What you can measure

Each campaign report is a funnel from send to sale, with per-recipient detail.

MetricWhat it tells you
Sent / DeliveredHow many messages left and reached the phone, with a delivery rate.
ReadHow many recipients opened the message.
ClickedUnique clickers and total clicks on your tracked link, with click-through rate.
Revenue & purchasesFrom Google Analytics, the sales the campaign drove — matched by its UTM tag.
Per-recipientDelivered / read / clicked status for each contact in the send.

Consent & compliance

Marketing messages on WhatsApp require the recipient's opt-in. WAGate captures consent at the source — a JOIN keyword, a website widget, a checkout opt-in, or a CSV you confirm is opted in — and every campaign respects a one-tap unsubscribe link and the STOP keyword. Opt-outs are permanent and are never overridden by a later import. See our acceptable use policy for the rules.

Which plan you need

You'll need a connected WhatsApp number via Embedded Signup, approved Marketing templates in the Template Hub, and a subscriber list. Marketing campaigns are part of WAGate's growth toolkit — see the pricing page for the plan that fits, then create your account to build your first campaign.

Frequently asked questions

Do my contacts need to opt in before I can message them?

Yes. WhatsApp marketing requires opt-in. Capture consent with a JOIN keyword, a website sign-up widget, a checkout opt-in, or by importing a list you confirm has agreed to receive marketing. Every message includes a one-tap unsubscribe and honours the STOP keyword, and opt-outs are permanent.

How does click tracking work — and why does the link show wagate.app?

When you turn on Track clicks, WAGate sends a short link (wagate.app/l/…) unique to each recipient. Tapping it logs the click, then instantly forwards to your real page with UTM tags. The link shows our domain because that redirect is what makes per-person tracking possible.

How do I see the sales a campaign generated?

Every tracked link is tagged with a unique utm_campaign. Connect Google Analytics in Settings, and each campaign report shows the revenue, purchases and sessions attributed to it. Your GA4 property needs ecommerce purchase events, and GA4 data can take a day or two to appear.

Do I have to personalise each message by hand?

No. Template variables are mapped once, in the template: a subscriber field (first name, email…) fills per person automatically, and a fixed value (a discount, a date) is set once for the whole campaign. The composer inherits the mapping and shows a live preview.

Can I reuse a template for different campaigns?

Yes. Because discounts and dates are fixed-value variables you set at send time, you can reuse one Meta-approved template across many campaigns without resubmitting it for approval.

How do I grow my subscriber list?

Import a CSV, sync customers from a connected WooCommerce or Shopify store, add a JOIN keyword so people subscribe over WhatsApp, or embed a sign-up widget on your website. Everyone is stored with their consent and language.
